Department of Geography and Rural Dev't organizes Seminar on Grantsmanship
A round table seminar on grantsmanship has been organized for faculty members of the Department of Geography and Rural Development to help equip them with relevant skills to win grants for research activities. The Seminar, which was organized by the Professional Development Committee of the Department was well attended by faculty members.
Prof. Esmeranda Manful, the lead facilitator, took participants through techniques of developing a winning research proposal for grant calls.
Prof. Divine Odame Appiah shared insights on critical steps required to responding to a grant call. On his part, Prof. Prince Osei-Wusu Adjei took participant through the craft of writing a grant proposal.
Prof. Alexander Segbefia also took turns to share with participants, key components of grant proposal evaluation criteria. Faculty members shared various experiences on grant proposal writing and applications, highlighting success stories as well as challenges encountered.
With experiences and lessons learnt, faculty members resolved to collaborate effectively to hunt for grant calls and opportunities towards improving and sustaining research output of the department.
